Team Managers

Thanks for taking on the role of Team Manager.

The key to this role is to get all parents involved, to ensure that scoring, stadium duty and training supervision is performed by every parent. The best way is to create rosters at the start of each season, distribute them and remind parents of their obligations. Note: it is a condition of membership that parents participate in team related duties.

Email is the best way to keep in contact. Create a team distribution list and send regular emails.

Please ensure that players sign the back of the score sheet for the first 5 games. A player must have played a minimum of 5 games to qualify for the finals. Signing the score sheet at every game ensures that all players with 5 games will be eligible.

If you need a subsitute player they must be in the right age group or under, have not played in the age division on the day for another team and can play a maximum of 3 games for your team over the season. Failure to follow these rules may result in a loss of match points.

If you have any questions please contact the relevant member of the IC Management Committee.

Season Fixtures – All the fixtures can be downloaded from the HBA website. Remember that the first 3 games of the season are grading games and depending on the win/loss ratio, your team may change divisions.

If you are unsure and need more information contact the relevant teams coordinator (see Contacts).

8 Player Rule - When a team is under the 8 players required to field a team, the IC Basketball Club will place qualified players from the waiting list to fill the vacancy. This will be done in consultation with the Team Manager under advice from the IC Basketball Club Committee. In the event of a team not accepting players to fill the 8 spots, the Committee will exercise discretion and determine placement suitability. A team may have more than 8 players if the whole team agrees.

Registration – The Team Manager is responsible for checking that all players are registered and fees paid before match one. A player is not permitted to train or play if the fees have not been paid. All players can register online or a form can be downloaded and the payment forwarded to the Registrar. Please provide the Age Group Coordinator a summary of paid up members prior to the first match.
